I’m preparing to settle down with my WIP now after doing some pre-writing, and I’m plugging into some music to help me focus.
Regardless of what I’m writing, I choose (without exception) music without lyrics. The latter are too distracting for me. Unless we’re talking opera or something, in which case they’re not a problem.
So, for me, it’s usually a film score (as long as I don’t know it too well and it doesn’t trigger me to remember specific film scenes or moments because those will distract me as well) or some kind of classical music.
Right now? It’s Ennio Morricone‘s score for Roland Joffė’s The Mission (1986). Stunning.
Anyone else?
